Susi Meret is an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Society at Aalborg University's Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Her research focuses on populism, particularly the populist radical right, Nordic populism, migration policies, Islamophobia, and gender-related mobilizations.
Her current projects include YOU-DARE (Debunking the Gendered Arguments of Far-Right Extremism, 2025–2028) and FIERCE (Feminist Movements Revitalizing Democracy, 2022–2025), where she serves as Principal Investigator. She also contributes to broader initiatives like EWA and SEPOS, addressing autocratic power, social exclusion, and polarization in the Nordic welfare state.
Meret's recent publications analyze the #MeToo movement's impact on Danish feminism, the radical right's influence on mainstream parties, and antifeminist mobilizations in Scandinavia. Her work spans journal articles, book chapters, and media commentary, reflecting her engagement with both academic and public discourse.
She actively participates in transnational research collaborations, including the FIERCE transnational lab, and serves as an internal examiner for PhD theses. Media outlets frequently cite her expertise on populism, extremism, and democratic challenges, particularly in Nordic contexts.
