Prof. Dr Sushrut Jadhav is Professor of Cultural Psychiatry at University College London and Consultant Psychiatrist/Lead Clinician at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. He holds honorary positions as Visiting Professor at LGBR Institute of Mental Health (Tezpur, India) and Professorial Research Associate in Anthropology at SOAS University of London. He is Founding Editor of Anthropology and Medicine journal, Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute UK, and member of its Medical Anthropology Committee.
His research explores mental health in marginalized populations, including caste dynamics in India, homelessness in London, human-animal relationships (Human-Elephant/Monkey interactions), and digital oppression in AI contexts. He develops culturally adapted therapies for social defeat among Dalits and identity distress in caste groups.
