Sushil Mishra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Mississippi, affiliated with the School of Pharmacy. He teaches courses in bioinformatics, biostatistics, and systems biomedicine, while leading research in computational glycoscience and biomolecular simulations.

His research combines molecular dynamics simulations, machine learning, and enhanced sampling techniques to study glycan biology, protein-glycan interactions, and the design of glycomimetics, peptides, and nanoparticles for biomedical applications like diagnostics and targeted drug delivery. He previously managed the Computational Chemistry and Bioinformatics Research Core at the Glycoscience Center of Research Excellence (2021–2024).
Dr. Mishra has held prestigious fellowships, including the JSPS Fellowship (2016–2018) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2018–2020). His work bridges computational chemistry and experimental glycoscience to address healthcare challenges.
