Susanne Wiedmer is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Helsinki and holds the title of Docent. She is also a Supervisor for the Doctoral Programme in Chemistry and Molecular Sciences within the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS). Her research focuses on chemical sciences, with emphasis on analytical chemistry, materials science, and biochemistry.
Recent research includes studies on corrosion inhibitors, lipid membrane interactions, and the application of AI in education and research. She leads multiple active projects funded by institutions like the Academy of Finland and Business Finland. Notable awards include the 2025 Faculty of Science Teaching Award and the 2000 Alfthanska priset.
