Susanne Lindqvist

Susanne Lindqvist is Professor of Interprofessional Practice and Director of the Centre for Interprofessional Practice (CIPP) at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia (UEA). She also serves as Director of Educational Strategy, Learning and Teaching Quality at the Medical School. Her work is central to advancing interprofessional education and practice across health and social care disciplines.

Her research and teaching focus on:

• Interprofessional education and practice in healthcare
• Leadership and collaborative practice
• Conflict resolution and team resilience
• Professional attitudes and hierarchy dynamics
• Facilitation of interprofessional learning
• Transforming healthcare services through teamwork

The trends in her recent publications (2020–2025) reflect a sustained focus on interprofessional curriculum integration, faculty and student experiences in IPE, and the development of tools and frameworks to evaluate collaborative practice. Her work increasingly involves qualitative investigations into educational leadership, mentoring, and the experiential learning of medical students in clinical support roles.

Scientific recognition includes:

• EMCC accredited coach for senior leaders (2019)
• Fellow of the Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (2016)

Susanne has supervised postgraduate research, including a PhD on interprofessional attitudes and practice. She has led major research projects funded by Health Education England and the NIHR, focusing on patient safety and innovative roles in care. She actively collaborates with institutions in Norway (Molde University) and Iceland (Reykjavik University), and her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and education.

She leads the Centre for Interprofessional Practice, which has delivered programs to over 3,000 students across 12 professions. She also co-delivers interprofessional communication training at the James Paget University Hospital and works closely with regional NHS Trusts to improve collaboration in healthcare delivery.
