Prof. Dr. Susanne Hahn is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Philosophy, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where she has held a permanent position since October 2020. Her research spans Philosophy of Digitalization, Rationality, Normativity, and Business Ethics, with a focus on AI ethics, epistemic norms, and healthcare ethics. She explores normative challenges in digitalization, including rethinking democracy, algorithmic decision-making, and responsible communication in digital contexts.
- 2024: Co-edited volume on philosophical digitalization research with Rainer Adolphi et al.
- 2017: Awarded the German Prize for Philosophy and Social Ethics (100,000 euros) for her work on rationality.
Her 15 most recent articles (2002–2024) examine topics like AI in medical diagnostics, bounded rationality, and norm generation. She has also led DFG-funded projects on business ethics frameworks and collaborated with institutions like the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) on digital responsibility. Her scientific awards include the Lise Meitner Habilitation Scholarship and the University of Essen's Outstanding Dissertation Prize.
