Susanne Gampfer is a Professor of Structural Engineering with a focus on Building Materials Science at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg). Appointed in 2011, she teaches in the E2D, Civil Engineering, and Architecture programs at both Bachelor's and Master's levels. Her academic journey includes studying architecture from 1984 to 1991 at the Technical University of Munich and the University of Bath in southern England.
Professor Gampfer's research interests center around sustainable building practices, with specific expertise in building construction, building materials science, life cycle assessment, and sustainability of building materials and structures. Her work bridges theoretical knowledge with practical applications in energy-efficient planning and building.
Before joining Augsburg University, Professor Gampfer had significant professional experience, working as an architect and project manager in various offices from 1991, handling planning, tendering, and construction. She then served at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich from 2002 to 2011.
Currently, she holds important administrative roles as the International Faculty Coordinator for both the Architecture (BA) program and the Digital.Design and Production (B.Eng.) program, demonstrating her commitment to international education and interdisciplinary approaches in architectural and civil engineering education.
