Dr. Susannah Fisher is a Senior Research Fellow at King's College London (since 2022), based in the Department of Geography within the School of Global Affairs, Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Previously, she was a Lecturer at University College London (UCL) and held senior roles at institutions such as the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the Grantham Institute at LSE. She earned her PhD in Geography from the University of Cambridge.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the politics of climate adaptation, knowledge dynamics in policy processes, measurement systems for adaptation effectiveness, climate justice, and the intersection of innovation with climate resilience. She examines how international urban networks influence local actions, the interplay between national policies and adaptation finance, and the operationalization of global adaptation goals.
Recent Engagement: She actively participated in COP27, contributing expert commentary on climate finance gaps, adaptation measurement frameworks, and the role of research in accelerating climate action. She has organized and presented at King's events reflecting on COP27 outcomes.
Supervision: PhD supervision focuses on climate adaptation planning processes, climate finance mechanisms, and the development of measurement systems for adaptation effectiveness.
