معرفی
Susann Boij is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), leading the research group in Technical Acoustics at the Department of Technical Mechanics. She is affiliated with the Marcus Wallenberg Laboratory for Sound and Vibration Research and contributes to the management of the Centre for ECO2 Vehicle design. Her research focuses on technical acoustics, including sound propagation in flowing media, societal noise analysis, and sustainable transport solutions. She integrates experimental studies, numerical simulations, and theoretical models to address complex acoustic challenges. Boij is also actively involved in teaching, overseeing courses such as Acoustic Measurements, Sound and Vibrations, and Fluid Acoustics. She received the KTH Pedagogical Prize in 2019 for her contributions to education. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle research at the intersection of acoustics, fluid dynamics, and environmental sustainability.
Key research interests include aeroacoustic phenomena in duct systems, noise reduction technologies, and cost modeling for traffic noise exposure. She leads initiatives to develop quieter vehicles and infrastructure while minimizing environmental impact. Her academic roles include serving on KTH’s Faculty Council (2024–2027) and coordinating multiple courses. Boij’s publications span experimental and computational methods in acoustics, with recent focus on perforated materials, nonlinear acoustic properties, and fluid-structure interactions.
