Susana Lopez-Sanchez

Susana Lopez-Sanchez is a Doctoral Researcher and former researcher at the University Institute of Automobile Research (INSIA), part of the Technical University of Madrid, Spain. She holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and dual MEng degrees in Mechanical and Automobile Engineering from UPM and INSIA. Her expertise includes Motor Vehicles Safety, Traffic Accident Analysis, and Transportation Environmental Impact. From 2001–2012, she led the Vehicle and Automotive Components Laboratory at INSIA, overseeing testing and research for national/international projects. She also taught Environmental Impact and Laboratory Practices in Automobile Engineering programs.

Her research focuses on advancing automotive safety systems, reducing transportation environmental footprints, and improving accident prevention through innovative technologies. Her work spans both theoretical and applied domains, with practical laboratory contributions to automotive component testing and safety protocols.

Lopez-Sanchez has extensive experience in project leadership, laboratory management, and academic teaching within the automobile engineering field. Her career has been centered around bridging research outcomes with real-world applications in vehicle safety and sustainable transportation systems.
