Susana Febrer Cardona

Susana Febrer Cardona is an Associate Professor in the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). She teaches Catalan language courses for Early Childhood and Primary Education programs and instructs multiple sections of Educational Research and Innovation in the Master's Degree in Teacher Training program.

Febrer Cardona earned her degree in Catalan Philology from the University of Barcelona in 2010 and completed her Master's in teaching at the University of the Balearic Islands in 2011. She has extensive experience as a Catalan language teacher in Menorcan institutes and serves on the Catalan language certificate evaluation board for the Institute of Balearic Studies, EBAP, and the General Directorate of Language Policy.

Her research interests center on Catalan linguistics and educational innovation, with particular focus on language revitalization and teacher training methodologies. She teaches specialized Catalan language courses for various subject specializations including Technology, Geography, Biology, Philosophy, Music, and Educational Guidance within the teacher training program.

Febrer Cardona also delivers seminars for the Linguistic and Cultural Training Plan (FOLC) of Menorca at UIB. While she previously served as the technician responsible for the Language Revitalization Plan (2018-2021) at the Department of Culture and Education of the Menorca Island Council, her current primary affiliation remains with the University of the Balearic Islands where she continues active teaching responsibilities for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years.
