Susan W. Parker is a Professor of Psychology and Associate Provost & Registrar at Randolph-Macon College, where she champions student success, academic excellence, and institutional effectiveness. She previously served as Associate Dean and Interim Dean of Academic Affairs, contributing to strategic initiatives like the college’s nursing program and graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies.
Education:
- PhD in Developmental Psychology (University of Minnesota, 2002), with a supporting program in Affective Neuroscience
- BA in Psychology (University of Richmond, 1997), earned magna cum laude and with election to Phi Beta Kappa
Her research focuses on developmental psychology, affective neuroscience, and the impact of early deprivation on cognitive and behavioral development, particularly through fieldwork in Bucharest, Romania. She has published in journals such as Child Development, Development and Psychopathology, and Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience.
