Susan Srigley is Professor and Chair of Religions and Cultures at Nipissing University's Faculty of Arts and Science. She earned her BA from McGill University, followed by an MA and PhD from McMaster University. Her teaching focuses on spiritual journeys, world religions, death and spirituality, and religion in literature.
Srigley's research examines religious ethics in literature, particularly through the works of Flannery O'Connor, and explores spiritual/meditative practices across religious traditions. Her work combines textual analysis with experiential insights from retreat practices in Buddhism and early Christianity.
Her publications include the monograph Flannery O'Connor's Sacramental Art and edited collections on O'Connor's works. She has also written extensively on themes of violence, redemption, and spiritual practice in literature.
