Susan Sandeman is a Professor of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at the University of Brighton's School of Applied Sciences. She leads research in functional organ replacement strategies using biomaterials, with a focus on nanostructured adsorbents and smart polymers. Her work addresses inflammation control, infection management, and tissue regeneration. She holds grants from NIHR, EU Horizon 2020, and MRC, totaling over £2 million.

- BSc (Hons) Basic Medical Sciences with Pharmacology, Queen Mary University of London (1993-1996)
- PhD in Ophthalmic Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, University of Brighton (1996-1999)
