Susan Romeo-Gilbert

Susan Romeo-Gilbert is an Instructor in the School of Business at Capilano University's Faculty of Business and Professional Studies, specializing in Business Information Management and Analytics. With over 35 years of IT experience across telecommunications, utilities, oil and gas, finance, and education sectors, she transitioned to full-time academia in 2011. Previously, she served as a Principal Platform Strategist at Microsoft Canada, leading IT strategy alignment with business objectives.

Research Focus: Her work centers on IT strategic needs assessment, business intelligence frameworks, geospatial systems integration, enterprise architecture, and sustainability in IT management. She emphasizes ethics, privacy, and strategic roadmapping for large enterprises.

Consulting & Community Engagement: As an IT strategy consultant since 2006, she has advised organizations like Accenture, WorkSafe BC, and BC Hydro. She volunteers with Embrace Rwanda International Society, Vancouver Women in Technology, and local education initiatives.
