Susan Pahlau is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Colorado Christian University, affiliated with the College of Undergraduate Studies - School of Humanities and Social Sciences. With over 15 years of professional experience in broadcasting, including roles at CBS NEWS4 in Denver and the Colorado Broadcaster's Association, she brings real-world expertise into the classroom. She is deeply committed to integrating media literacy with a Christian worldview, empowering students to use media as a positive force for communication and outreach.

Her research and teaching interests center on communication, media literacy, public relations, and the ethical use of media through a faith-based lens. She emphasizes hands-on learning, guiding students in internships, organizing industry networking opportunities, and facilitating field experiences at major media organizations such as 9NEWS, ROOT SPORTS, and GroundFloor Media. She also brings influential guest speakers into the classroom to enrich student learning.
Susan Pahlau serves as the faculty advisor for XPRESS, CCU's chapel club, and played a key role in developing and teaching the communication capstone course: Public Relations Campaigns and Event Planning. She has presented research at national academic conferences, including the National Communication Association, and is a sought-after speaker at Christian women's ministries and church events.

She has co-coordinated CCU’s Internship Reception, connecting over 100 students with 10+ companies and ministries.
