Ambassador Susan D. Page is Professor of Practice in International Diplomacy at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and Professor from Practice at the Law School. She holds a JD from Harvard Law School and AB in English with high distinction from University of Michigan, complemented by a Rotary International Postgraduate Fellowship to Nepal and certificates from University of St. Andrews.
With extensive diplomatic experience, her expertise encompasses international relations focused on Africa, conflict resolution, rule of law development, and post-conflict governance. Key roles include: UN Assistant Secretary General/Special Adviser on Rule of Law; Special Representative to UN Mission in Haiti; inaugural US Ambassador to South Sudan; Chargé d'Affaires to African Union; and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs.
Professional memberships include the American Academy of Diplomacy and Association of Black American Ambassadors. Diplomacy emphasized mediation in Africa's longest civil war and justice system development in transitional states.
