Susan O'Shea

Dr Susan O’Shea is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, specializing in social movements, festivals, and popular music with a focus on gender. Her research explores the intersection of feminist networks and cultural practices through social network analysis.

• Education: PhD in Social Statistics (2014) from the University of Manchester, MSc in Social Research Methods & Statistics (Merit, 2009), PGCert in Social Sciences with Social Policy (2006), MPhil in Women’s Studies (Hons, 2001), BA in Sociology and English (Hons, 1997).

Her work includes analyzing feminist music movements like Ladyfest in the UK, funded by ESRC grants. Recently, she contributed to the commentary on Dissonant Landscapes: Music, Nature, and the Performance of Iceland, highlighting ecomusicology and environmental humanities.
