Susan Mulcahy is a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College (Central Faculty) and a Lecturer in Data Analytics at Ada National College for Digital Skills. She previously served as Director of the Data Sparks Programme (a student placement initiative linking data science projects with industry) and Senior Education Fellow of the Data Science Institute (DSI) at Imperial. Her roles include developing educational programs for the DSI and corporate training since 2012.
- Education: PhD in Bioengineering (Imperial College, 2016), MBA (INSEAD), BSc Mechanical Engineering (Purdue University)
Research interests focus on applying data science to business analytics and biomedical sensors. Notably, her PhD involved analyzing traumatic brain injury indicators via MATLAB using massive datasets (500M+ data points/patient/day).
Awards: Royal Geographical Society Fellowship since 2002.
Grants/Advising: Spearheaded the Data Sparks Programme linking students with industry projects. Active in Imperial Business Analytics, a research center bridging data science and business.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the Data Science Institute and William Penney Laboratory at Imperial's South Kensington Campus.
