Susan Miller-Cochran is Professor of English and Executive Director of General Education in the Office of the Provost at the University of Arizona. She is affiliated with the Department of English and teaches in the doctoral program in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English (RCTE). She previously directed the UA Writing Program (2015–2019) and held faculty and administrative roles at North Carolina State University and Mesa Community College.
Her research focuses on writing program administration, technology in writing instruction, L2 writing, and labor practices in composition programs. She explores how writing is taught across disciplines, how technology shapes writing pedagogy, and how writing programs can be ethically and effectively administered. Her work emphasizes equity, professional development, and institutional change.

Susan Miller-Cochran has been Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on fifteen grants totaling nearly $120,000, focusing on technology integration, writing instruction, and classroom design.
