Susan Manejias Parke, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and Medical Director of Community Forensics Services at the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC). She specializes in forensic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and trauma-informed care, focusing on individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Her clinical work emphasizes risk assessment, competency evaluations, and rights-related mental health treatment. She leads CMHC’s Community Forensics Services, addressing the needs of legally involved clients, including those transitioning from incarceration or insanity acquittals.
Dr. Parke’s research explores violence risk assessment, juvenile justice mental health, and competency restoration programs. She has published on postvention strategies for school suicide responses, milieu therapy for adolescents, and the intersection of forensic and public psychiatry. Her educational background includes a Child Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale and prior training at the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Parke is committed to culturally responsive care and has contributed to initiatives addressing health equity in psychiatry. She speaks English and Spanish and collaborates with researchers like Charles Dike and Howard Zonana on forensic and public mental health topics.
