Susan MacDermott

Susan MacDermott, OTD, OTR/L, is an Assistant Professor and Doctoral Coordinator for Occupational Therapy Programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, College of Rehabilitative Sciences. With over 15 years of clinical and academic experience, she concurrently practices occupational therapy at Lasting Recovery, a substance abuse treatment facility in San Diego.

Her research centers on chronic pain management and occupational science. She has presented nationally on occupational therapy approaches for addiction and chronic pain/headache management. MacDermott holds leadership roles as Region 1 Director for the Occupational Therapy Association of California.
