Susan M. Brigham is Professor in the Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University. She holds a PhD and MEd from University of Alberta and a BEd from University of New Brunswick. With extensive international teaching experience, her research examines adult education through lenses of critical race theory, feminism, and transformative learning.
Brigham's research focuses on immigrant/international education, participatory photography with marginalized groups, and Africentric approaches. She has secured over $14 million in research funding from SSHRC, Atlantic Metropolis Centre, and other agencies. Current projects explore refugee youth education and culturally responsive teaching.
Her publications address transnational migration, community-based research, and equity in education. Recent collaborative work employs visual methodologies to examine immigrant women's learning experiences in Atlantic Canada.
