Dr. Susan Liggett serves as a Reader in Fine Art at Wrexham Glyndwr University, where she supervises PhD students in art and design while maintaining an active studio practice. Her career spans over twenty years in academic instruction following her professional experience as a London-based exhibiting artist.
Education:
- Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons) from Nottingham Trent University
- MA (Postgraduate Diploma) in Painting from the Royal Academy Schools, London
- PhD from the University of Wales investigating contemporary painters' site relationships
Her research examines the intersection of traditional painting techniques and contemporary practice, with special focus on historic pigment application methods.
