Susan Kaiser is Professor of Design, Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies, and Textiles and Clothing at the University of California, Davis. She holds a Ph.D. in Textiles and Clothing with a minor in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University and a B.S. in Textiles and Clothing from the University of Texas at Austin.
Her research examines fashion through lenses of place and space, particularly in understudied contexts like small cities, towns, and rural areas. She analyzes how fashion intersects with identities related to gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age, social class, and nationality.
