Susan J. Elliott

Susan J. Elliott is a Professor at the University of Waterloo, specializing in medical geography with a focus on global environmental and health linkages. She holds an adjunct appointment at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), where she collaborates on water and sanitation research. Additionally, she serves as Editor-in-Chief of Social Science and Medicine and co-founded Wellbeing, Space and Society.

Her research explores intersections between the built environment (planned settlements), socially constructed environment (health perceptions), and physical environment (water, sanitation, climate change). She founded the Geographies of Health in Place lab to advance this work.
