Professor Susan Halford is Professor of Sociology at the University of Bristol and serves as Co-Director of both the ESRC Centre for Sociodigital Futures and the Bristol Digital Futures Institute. Her interdisciplinary work bridges social sciences and engineering to examine digital technology's societal implications.
Her research focuses on organizational change dynamics, particularly digital workplace transformations, and critically analyzes digital data politics, infrastructures, and methods. She investigates knowledge-power relationships and inequality in digital contexts, recently pioneering theoretical frameworks for inclusive, participatory future-making that emphasize collaborative approaches to sociodigital futures.
Professor Halford's significant honors include:

She previously served as President of the British Sociological Association (2018-2021), demonstrating leadership in her field.
