Susan Egenolf

Susan Egenolf is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on 18th- and 19th-century British literature and culture, with particular emphasis on women writers, visual culture, and the novel. She has authored and edited numerous volumes, including The Art of Political Fiction in Hamilton, Edgeworth, and Owenson (2009) and co-edited the Maria Edgeworth Letters Project (2019–). Her work bridges literary analysis with cultural studies, examining themes such as gender roles, political engagement, and historical contextualization.

Her awards include the 2014–2015 Glasscock Fellowship and the 2008 Teaching Excellence Award from Texas A&M’s College of Liberal Arts. Her research on British family life (e.g., Wives and Mothers, 2013) and industrial history (e.g., Gods in the Western Midlands, 2018) demonstrates interdisciplinary engagement with archives and collaborative digital projects. She has contributed to scholarly discussions on Irish literature, Romanticism, and the intersections of art and industry.
