Susan Duchesne is a Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. She serves as Associate Academic Program Director of the Master of Teaching program on regional campuses and coordinates teacher education programs at the Bega Campus. Her work focuses on student engagement, teacher professional development, and resilience-building in educational contexts.
Education: PhD (Macquarie University, 1996), BA Dip Ed (Hons) (Macquarie University, 1987).
Research interests include teacher education, higher education equity, educational psychology, and professional learning communities. Current projects explore student partnerships in learning, community recovery post-disasters, and resilience in early years teachers. She co-authored the widely adopted textbook Educational Psychology for Learning and Teaching.
Funding: Received Global Challenges Seed Funding for a 2020 project on post-disaster community resilience practices.
Teaching: Coordinates undergraduate/postgraduate courses including EDMT910 and EDGX901. Supervised PhD projects on boarding school wellbeing and school improvement processes.
Labs/Teams: Member of the Staying BRITE team supporting teacher resilience initiatives.
