Susan Dennison is a Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor. Her work focuses on patient safety, medication error prevention, and healthcare quality improvement. She collaborates closely with colleagues like Dr. Michelle Freeman on initiatives such as the Patient Safety Learning Series and contributed to the University of Windsor’s active Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School chapter.
Her research and educational efforts emphasize error reduction in clinical settings, including near-miss reporting and medication administration safety. Dennison has spearheaded student-led mental well-being programs for high schoolers and pioneered the Patient Safety Champions program, fostering student engagement in safety protocols. She has been recognized for her research contributions, notably winning the 2019 People’s Choice Award in Patient Safety.
