Susan C Wilson

Susan C Wilson is Professor of Environmental Pollution at the University of New England's School of Environmental and Rural Science. She directs the UNE Pollution Science Research Group, focusing on chemical contaminants in terrestrial ecosystems.

Research encompasses pollution source tracking, fate of emerging contaminants including microplastics, and remediation strategies for degraded environments. Work combines analytical chemistry with ecological risk assessment to evaluate contaminant impacts on soil health and ecosystem functions.

Current projects investigate microplastic accumulation pathways in agricultural systems, chemical transformation of pollutants in heterogeneous matrices, and exposure risks in rural-urban interfaces.
