Susan Brumfield is a Professor of Music Education at Texas Tech University (School of Music), where she has established herself as an internationally recognized clinician, consultant, author, composer, arranger, and choral conductor. She holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Oklahoma and specializes in Kodály-inspired teaching methodologies.

Her research and creative work focus on:

Dr. Brumfield has received multiple accolades, including two Outstanding Research Awards from Texas Tech's College of Visual and Performing Arts and the Louisiana Tech University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award. Her choirs have performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and national conferences for American Kodály Educators and the Amerian Orff Schulwerk Association.
The West Texas Children's Chorus, which she founded, serves as a teaching lab for TTU Music Education students while providing community outreach through four choirs spanning kindergarten to college levels. The organization also undertakes bi-annual national tours.
