Susan Adams Delaney is an Associate Professor of Writing at Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences. Her expertise centers academic writing, professional writing, and neurodivergent students and teachers. She holds a Ph.D. in Composition & Cultural Rhetoric from Syracuse University (2007), an M.A. in English (1999) and Theater (1992) from Western Washington University, and a B.A. in Dramatic Art from Whitman College (1986).
Her research explores intersections of identity in education, including neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ experiences, and first-gen student success. She co-authored works on ePortfolio systems, social justice pedagogy, and queer theory in academia. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student-driven learning and inclusive practices.
She maintains drop-in hours in Smiddy Hall (Tues 3-4pm, Thurs 10:30-11:30am, and virtual options).
