Alex Estabrook is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences and Studies at Ithaca College's Roy H Park School of Communications. He teaches across Television-Radio and Sports Media programs in studio, field, and post-production environments, both in-person and online. As Faculty Advisor to IC Esports, he bridges his academic and industry expertise.

His research explores the intersection of gaming/esports with mental health, examining both beneficial impacts and risks of unhealthy gaming habits. He pioneered hybrid content creation methods blending video game elements with live sports footage during his ESPN Production Operations tenure (2006-2016), including groundbreaking documentary-style packages for UEFA Euro League broadcasts and Martin Scorsese's Shine a Light. Current work focuses on mental health awareness through esports engagement.
