Susa Templin

Susa Templin is a Lecturer at the Offenbach University of Art and Design, leading the Analogue Photography Laboratory since 2019. She studied at the Städelschule Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main (1987–1993) and the Berlin University of the Arts (1987–1993).

Her research focuses on the spatial qualities of photography, deconstructing and reconstructing space through analogue and digital techniques. Her work explores three-dimensional and four-dimensional representations of space, light, and time, often manifested in translucent labyrinths and folded spaces. Key themes include reflexive spaces, temporary spaces, and indoor landscapes.

Her publications include monographs like "The light, the time and the space" (2021) and "Real Estate" (2013), reflecting her experimental approach to photographic spatial abstraction. Her works are held in prominent public collections, including the Städel Museum and the DZ BANK Art Collection.

She has previously taught at institutions such as the Bergen National Academy of Arts (Norway), Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, and the Karlsruhe Academy of Art and Design.
