Mike Bouchet

Mike Bouchet is a contemporary artist and Professor of Sculpture at the School of Art, University of Art and Design in Offenbach, Germany, since October 2019. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UCLA (1994) under mentors like Charles Ray and Paul McCarthy. His work, exhibited internationally at biennales (Venice, São Paulo) and institutions (Centre Pompidou, Städel Museum), focuses on sculpture, installation art, and collaborative projects.

His artistic research explores urban interventions, material experimentation, and visual storytelling. Bouchet’s exhibitions often critique cultural norms and art-market dynamics, as seen in works like Powered A-Hole (2015) with Paul McCarthy and FLOOD (2013). Recent monographies include The Zurich Load (2019) and Tender (2016).

He has received the 1822 Art Prize (2014) and held visiting professorships at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart (2014) and Royal Art Institute Stockholm (2015). Bouchet collaborates with institutions like Portikus and Peres Projects, emphasizing teamwork and experimental setups in art creation.
