Professor Surya P. Subedi, OBE, KC, DPhil & DCL (Oxford) is a leading academic in international law at the University of Leeds since 2004, with additional roles as Visiting Professor at Oxford University and Honorary Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford. His career spans teaching at six universities across UK, USA, and Netherlands while maintaining active legal practice as a Barrister at Three Stone Chambers.

Research focuses on international law, human rights, and investment arbitration, with particular emphasis on cross-cultural human rights understanding, legal frameworks for landlocked states, and balancing investor protections with human/environmental rights. His work extends to environmental governance through roles as Legal Procedural Advisor to IUCN World Conservation Congress.
