Dr. Suresh S N is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics and Electronics at M.P.E Society's SDM Degree College in Honnavar, Karnataka, where he has been serving since November 1994. He leads 'Suresh S N's Lab' focusing on environmental radioactivity research.
His research examines:
- Radon/radium quantification in water and soil systems
- Radiological hazard assessment for public health
- Gamma radiation mapping in diverse geological regions
- Seasonal variations of indoor radon/thoron
- Radiation dose modeling through inhalation/ingestion pathways
Fieldwork spans 10+ districts of Karnataka using:
- HPGe gamma spectrometry
- Radon emanometry
- LR-115 nuclear track detectors
- ER-709 environmental dosimeters
