Suresh Pavuluri, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Quality and Safety in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. His work focuses on enhancing healthcare systems to deliver safe, cost-effective, and equitable care. He serves as Sepsis Lead for Yale Health System's Emergency Departments and leads quality improvement (QI) initiatives, including the Resident Distinction Track in Quality and Safety (RDQS). Dr. Pavuluri completed his MD at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, an MPH in U.S. Health Policy at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital. His research includes developing system-based models to detect diagnostic errors and validate quality indicators in emergency medicine.
Administratively, he expanded Yale's quality assurance program, created a Quality Lecture Series, and collaborated with GME's Health Equity, Patient Safety, and Quality Improvement (HEPSQI) program. His contributions have led to presentations at regional, national, and international venues. Prior to Yale, he evaluated New York’s Perinatal Quality Collaborative and analyzed pediatric cancer care policies in low-resource settings for The Lancet Oncology Commission.
