Supratik Banerjee

Supratik Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He holds a PhD from Universite Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, and specializes in Plasma Physics and fluid turbulence.

His research focuses on analytical theory for different types of turbulent flows, particularly in space and astrophysical fluid media, understanding properties of Solar wind turbulence through theory and in-situ data analysis, and turbulence in living fluids. His work demonstrates a strong theoretical foundation with practical applications in space physics and fluid dynamics.

Dr. Banerjee's publications reveal a consistent research trajectory in magnetohydrodynamic turbulence, with particular emphasis on scaling relations, energy transfer mechanisms, and helicity properties across multiple prestigious journals including Physical Review E, Journal of Physics A, and Astrophysical Journal Letters.
