Suparna Roychoudhury is a Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College, where she also serves as Faculty Associate Provost and Associate Dean of Faculty. Her academic leadership roles include membership on the Editorial Board of English Literary Renaissance.

Her research focuses on English Renaissance literature, particularly Shakespeare, and intersects with the history of science, medicine, and technology. She explores themes like imagination in early modern scientific contexts, cognitive theory, and transnational literary cosmopolitanism. Her book Phantasmatic Shakespeare: Imagination in the Age of Early Modern Science (Cornell University Press, 2018) exemplifies this interdisciplinary approach.
Roychoudhury’s publications span journals such as ELH, English Literary Renaissance, and SEL: Studies in English Literature 1500-1900. Her work often examines intersections between literature and early modern scientific thought, with subfields including Renaissance poetics, Shakespearean drama, and psychoanalytic literary criticism.
