Sunčana Tuksar

Sunčana Tuksar is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Information and Communication Sciences (Communicology and Film) at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism 'Dr. Mijo Mirković' and the Design and Audio-Visual Communications Study Programme at Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Transmedia Communication from J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek (2020), an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Zagreb (2000), and a BA from the University of Cambridge (1996). She has also participated in advanced training programs at institutions like the University of Southern Denmark and the UCL Institute of Education, London.

Her research focuses on transmedia storytelling, cultural identity in film, digital and visual literacy, and multimodal communication. Key areas include analyzing film adaptations, transcultural competences, and the intersection of fashion and film narratives. She leads institutional projects like LangComm (Languages of Communication: Transmedia Approach), emphasizing digital nomads' competences and visual literacy.

Dr. Tuksar has authored/co-authored monographs such as Prekoračenja: Transmedijska kultura i film and Unutarnji poslovi književnih figura, and collaborates internationally with institutions like the University of Naples Federico II and the University of Greenwich. Her recent work includes the co-authored Multiverse of Storytelling with Henry Jenkins, exploring imaginary worlds and transmedia narratives.

Teaching responsibilities include courses like Film and Multimodal Competences and Transmedia Storytelling. Her professional memberships span organizations like the European Network for Intercultural Education Activities (ENIEDA) and the Croatian Applied Linguistics Society (HDPL). She actively contributes to academic conferences and editorial boards, blending theoretical research with practical pedagogy.
