Sunil More

Sunil More is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology at Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, where he has been employed since 2019 (initially as a Clinical Assistant Professor, then promoted to Assistant Professor in 2020). He holds a PhD in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences from Oklahoma State University (2016) and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (2019-2029).

Dr. More's research spans veterinary pathology, virology, and immunology with particular emphasis on coronavirus pathogenesis, host immune responses, and meat science applications. His work bridges veterinary medicine, human health, and food safety through a translational research approach. His laboratory investigates viral-host interactions, particularly focusing on SARS-CoV-2 and other coronaviruses, using various animal models including mice and cats.

His publication record demonstrates expertise in viral pathogenesis mechanisms, with significant contributions to understanding TLR7-mediated antiviral responses, neutrophil dynamics in SARS-CoV-2 infection, macrodomain functions in coronaviruses, and vaccine development. His research also extends to food safety, particularly regarding meat quality and dark-cutting beef characterization.
