Sunil Logantha is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences (L5). His research focuses on cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmias, and chronobiology, with contributions to understanding heart failure and circadian rhythms' impact on heart rate. He holds a PhD from the University of Strathclyde (2005–2010), an MSc from Sheffield Hallam University (2003–2004), and dual degrees from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BPharm and Master of Management Studies, 1998–2003).
Research interests include sinoatrial node function, atrioventricular block mechanisms in athletes, and cardiac remodeling. His work employs mouse and rabbit models to study ion channels, action potentials, and microRNA regulation. Recent studies highlight circadian rhythms' role in HCN4 channels and sex differences in cardiac structures.
Collaborations involve global teams exploring cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure, with publications in Frontiers in Medicine, Heart Rhythm, and Circulation Research. His findings have been featured in 90+ news outlets and cited widely, contributing to SDGs related to health and well-being.
