Sunil Khanna is a Professor and Director of the Center for Global Health at Oregon State University's College of Health, School of Nutrition and Public Health. He holds the Robert and Sara Rothschild Endowed Chair in Global Health and leads the Botswana Global Health Initiative (BGHI), a collaborative program with the University of Michigan, the Botswana Ministry of Health and Wellness, and USAID. He is actively involved in mentoring graduate students and promoting international public health education and equity.
Research Interests: Sunil Khanna's work focuses on decolonizing global health through inclusive, participatory, and sustainable community engagement. His research spans sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence prevention, disability inclusion, and positive youth development, particularly in Botswana and India. He emphasizes cultural humility, community-driven solutions, and the co-creation of health strategies with local stakeholders.
Publications and Research Trends: His scholarly contributions include the edited volume The Cultural Politics of Reproduction, which explores how migration influences health, reproduction, and identity. His publications reflect a strong interdisciplinary focus on global health, migration, and cultural dynamics, often integrating anthropological and public health perspectives.
