Sunaina Assanand

Sunaina Assanand is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), affiliated with the Faculty of Arts. She holds a PhD from UBC (2003) and joined the faculty in 2009. Her research focuses on teaching methodologies, gender psychology, cultural psychology, personality psychology, and community psychology. She is recognized for her dedication to education, reflected in awards such as the Killam Teaching Prize (2014) and the Robert E. Knox Master Teaching Award (2008, 2012).

Dr. Assanand does not supervise graduate students, aligning with her role as Instructor-track faculty. Her contributions to undergraduate education and service to the UBC community have been highlighted through awards like the Just Desserts Award (2016).
