Sun-Young Park is Professor of European History at George Mason University's Department of History and Art History, specializing in 19th-century architectural and urban history with particular focus on modern France. Her research examines intersections of built environments, medical history, and disability studies. She holds degrees from Princeton University (BA), Harvard Graduate School of Design (M.Arch), and Harvard University (PhD).
Research examines how hygienic discourses shaped Parisian institutions and public spaces, and how architectural developments accommodated disabled populations. Current book project analyzes disability and architecture in France from 1789-1918. Recognized through prestigious fellowships including ACLS, NEH, and Graham Foundation awards.
