Sumanas W Jordan

Sumanas W Jordan, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is affiliated with the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM), the Buehler Center for Health Policy and Economics, and the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS).

Her research focuses on gender-affirming surgical care, peripheral nerve regeneration, and health disparities in sexual/gender minority populations. Recent work includes developing bioresorbable nerve stimulators and analyzing prostate cancer screening gaps in transgender/non-binary patients.

Publication trends highlight innovations in breast reconstruction sensation, nerve repair technologies, and transgender-specific healthcare policy. She has pioneered data collection frameworks for gender identity in electronic health records.
