Professor Suleika Bort holds the Chair of International Management and Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Passau since 2020. She serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics since autumn 2023 and chairs the Advisory Board of the Institute for Applied Ethics in Business, Education and Training. Previously, she worked at the University of Mannheim, Chemnitz University of Technology, and the University of Sydney.
- Education: Completed her business administration degree (Diplom-Kauffrau) at the University of Mannheim with a focus on organization, marketing, and work psychology.
- Academic Journey: Research assistant and doctoral student at the University of Mannheim (Chair of General Business Administration and Organization), habilitation there (Chair of SME Research and Entrepreneurship), visiting scholar at Stanford and Northwestern Universities, visiting professor at TU Kaiserslautern, lecturer at the University of Sydney, and Professor of Organization and International Management at TU Chemnitz.
Her research bridges international management, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship, focusing on globally active organizations and their socially responsible design. Key topics include international cooperation, organizational theory, and new market emergence. Her empirical work integrates qualitative, quantitative, and experimental methods, with recent articles analyzing gender biases in entrepreneurial financing and institutional constraints on SMEs.
Her team includes doctoral students Kevin Koziol, Maja Schmitz, Nina Dames, and external doctoral students Nelly Rahimy and Vanessa Robertson. She leads the PATEC project funded by EXIST and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aiming to establish an entrepreneurial mindset at the University of Passau.
Scientific Awards:
- Best Paper Award (2023) with team for systematic literature review on gender bias in entrepreneurial equity financing at Mannheim Castle Days.
