Suja S. Rajan

Dr. Suja S. Rajan serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Policy & Community Health at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. She is affiliated with the Center for Health Systems Research, Policy, and Practice, where she contributes her expertise in health economics and econometrics to advance research on health disparities and healthcare systems.

Dr. Rajan's research focuses on women's health, stroke and cancer health outcomes, socioeconomic determinants of health, and health disparities. Her work involves identifying and addressing racial-ethnic, socioeconomic, and gender disparities in healthcare through rigorous evaluation of interventions and cost-effectiveness analyses. She employs advanced statistical methods including econometric analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, and Markov modeling to analyze large healthcare datasets.

As an educator, Dr. Rajan teaches graduate courses in Advanced Health Economics, Economic Evaluation, Econometrics, and Advanced Health Services Research. Her publications appear in leading medical and health services research journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Stroke, reflecting her significant contributions to the field of health economics and outcomes research.
